The building was rebuilt six times on the same floor plan, on the site of an older (3rd century) longhouse, and was likely in existence during the 6th to 10th centuries. Sweden surnames are patronymic and change every generation, so carefully study Sweden Names, Personal. Small gold foil figures from the Viking Temple at Uppakra, Sweden. AD 400 - 800. Most of these small foils are only 1.0 to 1.5 cm in height. About 120 of these tiny plaques were recovered during the excavation of the temple. In the 1930s, during the construction of a house south of Lund in south‐western Scania (southern Sweden), a thick occupation layer was discovered. The layer formed as a result of settlement during the Early Iron Age as a small‐scale excavation demonstrated.
